This Privacy Policy explains how JSB Electric ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you use the JSB Electric mobile application (the "App") and related services.
We are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here. By using the App you acknowledge this Policy. Where the law requires your consent, we ask for it separately and you may withdraw it at any time (see Section 9).

Books you download, your reading position and your downloaded-title list are stored in the App's private storage on your device. This data is not readable by other apps. Uninstalling the App deletes it.
We do not sell your personal data.
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") we process your personal data on the basis of the consent you give when you create an account, enable notifications or agree to personalised advertising, and for certain legitimate uses permitted by the Act such as complying with law and preventing fraud. Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time; withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.
Payments are handled by third-party payment processors. Depending on the method you choose, your payment data is transmitted to one of:
We do not store your full card number or CVV on our servers. Where a card is entered inside the App, the details are passed to the processor to authorise the transaction. Each processor handles your data under its own privacy policy, and we recommend you read the policy of the processor you use.
We retain a transaction record containing your user identifier, email address, the plan purchased, the amount, the processor used and the processor's transaction reference.
The App displays advertising. Our advertising partners may collect your Advertising ID, approximate location, device information and interaction data to select and measure ads. These partners are:
You can limit ad personalisation at any time in your device settings under
Settings → Privacy → Ads, where you may reset or delete your Advertising ID.
If you are in a region that requires it, we ask for your consent before serving personalised ads
and you can change that choice in the App's settings.

We share personal data only with:
Some of these providers are located outside India. Where personal data is transferred abroad, we do so in accordance with the DPDP Act and any restrictions notified by the Central Government.

You may decline or later revoke any permission in your device settings. Some features will not work without the relevant permission.

You can ask us to delete your account and the personal data associated with it at any time by emailing [email protected] from the email address registered to your account, with the subject line "Delete my account". We complete verified deletion requests within 30 days and confirm by email once it is done.
When we delete your account we erase your profile data, reviews and reading history. We may retain a minimal transaction record where tax or accounting law requires it, and anonymised statistics that cannot identify you.
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, or if your account remains inactive for 24 months, we erase or anonymise your personal data, except where we must retain it to comply with a legal obligation or to establish or defend a legal claim.
The App is not directed at children. Under the DPDP Act, we do not knowingly process the personal data of anyone under 18 years of age without the verifiable consent of a parent or lawful guardian, and we do not carry out tracking, behavioural monitoring or targeted advertising directed at children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
We take reasonable security safeguards to protect personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration and loss. These include access controls on our systems, storing account passwords in hashed form rather than as readable text, and restricting staff access to personal data to those who need it for their role.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected users as required by the DPDP Act.
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version at this URL and update the "Last updated" date. Where changes are significant, we will give you notice in the App and, where the law requires, ask for your consent again.
